A live-in nanny role in a beautiful remote location in the Scottish Highlands, supporting a busy family with four children and helping provide structure, activities and calm day-to-day care.
Job Summary
A private family based in a very remote part of Scotland are seeking a live-in nanny to support their four children. The family are located not far from the NC500, in a beautiful area with access to beaches, play parks and outdoor spaces.
The older two children are generally more independent and occasionally help the parents within the family business, so the role will be more hands-on with the younger two children. The family would like someone who can provide calm, consistent support, keep the children busy and help create a structured and positive environment. A driver is essential due to the remote location, and a car can be provided. The family can offer some flexibility around the working pattern and are open to discussing the exact structure with the right candidate.
Job Specification
The nanny’s duties will include:
- Providing daily care for four children, with a particular focus on the younger two.
- Supporting a mix of mornings, afternoons and bedtime routines.
- Driving the children to and from booked activities.
- Planning engaging outdoor activities, including trips to the beach, play parks and local areas.
- Creating fun and age-appropriate home-based activities.
- Keeping the children busy, stimulated and positively engaged.
- Supporting routines and helping maintain clear boundaries.
- Providing a calm, steady and consistent approach, particularly for the seven-year-old.
- Helping manage challenging behaviour with patience and confidence.
- Encouraging all children to be treated fairly and consistently.
- Supporting with light child-related duties.
Candidate Requirements
- A confident driver, due to the family’s remote location.
- Comfortable living and working in a rural setting.
- Outdoorsy, practical and happy to make the most of the local area.
- Creative and confident planning home-based activities.
- Calm, steady and able to manage challenging behaviour.
- Confident setting boundaries and following through consistently.
- Mature, patient and emotionally resilient.
- Comfortable around dogs and happy to help with dog walking where possible.
- Flexible in their approach to working hours and family life.
