Private Chef – Kensington, London
A wonderful opportunity has arisen for an experienced and talented Private Chef to join a fully staffed household based primarily in Kensington, London.
The role will focus predominantly on preparing high-quality meals for a small family, while also assisting with light service and ensuring the kitchen is maintained to an exceptional standard.
The family are typically based in London during school terms and spend extended periods in Europe.
Key Responsibilities
Preparing daily meals for the family, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and occasional entertaining.
Creating healthy, nutritious, and beautifully presented dishes using fresh seasonal ingredients.
Demonstrating strong knowledge of French, Asian, Middle Eastern and Italian cuisine,
Preparing occasional cakes, desserts, and baked goods.
Providing light food service when required.
Preparing simple lunches for household staff as needed.
Managing food purchasing, stock control, and kitchen provisioning.
Maintaining the highest standards of kitchen cleanliness, organisation, and food safety.
Candidate Requirements
Proven experience working as a Private Chef within a private household, yacht, estate, or similar high-end environment.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
Flexible, discreet, and able to work seamlessly as part of a household team.
EU nationality is essential.
Full driving licence required.
Working Hours
The Chef will generally work five days per week, with two days off. However, due to the family’s travel schedule and lifestyle, the role will often involve working six days per week, with any additional days worked accrued and taken as time off in lieu. Flexibility is essential, and the family’s frequent travel typically provides opportunities for additional downtime throughout the year. The client also travels for months at a time when you are not required to travel.
Salary: £70,000 to £85,000 GPA
