Job Summary
This private family are expecting their first baby in November and are seeking experienced overnight support during the early weeks following birth. The family would like a maternity nurse who can provide reassurance and practical advice while helping them navigate feeding, sleep, and new-born care with confidence. The mother is planning to breastfeed and would welcome support with this, including guidance around expressing breast milk and introducing bottles if appropriate. The family are keen to establish healthy sleep and feeding habits from an early stage and would value a maternity nurse who can offer balanced, structured advice without imposing a rigid approach.
The primary objective of the role is to provide professional overnight support, allowing the family, particularly the father, to maximise rest while ensuring the baby receives attentive and consistent care.
Job Specification
- Supporting and encouraging successful breastfeeding
- Offering guidance around expressing breast milk and bottle introduction where appropriate
- Assisting with settling and soothing the baby overnight
- Helping establish positive sleep and feeding foundations
- Providing practical newborn care advice and parental reassurance
- Maintaining clear communication with the parents regarding the baby’s progress overnight
