Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Live-in Butler to support a private Principal at a beautiful estate near Ramatuelle in St.Tropez.
This is a prestigious and hands-on role requiring someone with a quiet presence, a deep understanding of formal service, and the ability to deliver excellence with discretion and confidence.
The successful candidate will bring a calm and unflappable demeanour, strong emotional intelligence, and the ability to seamlessly switch between front-of-house hosting and behind-the-scenes logistics.
Job duties
Responsibilities of the Butler in the St. Tropez include:
- Silver service for daily meals and formal events
- Greeting guests and overseeing the smooth running of gatherings (small and large)
- Liaising with chefs on menus and dietary preferences, including for travel
- Packing and unpacking for the Principal and assisting with luggage organisation
- Coordinating restaurant bookings and managing local errands
- Occasional driving duties – must be confident with high-performance vehicles
- General support across the household – flexibility and team spirit are vital
- Accompanying the Principal during travel (Europe and beyond)
Candidates must be/have:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar private roles, ideally with proven longevity
- Fluent in English
- Fluency in French (desirable not essential)
- EU Passport/Right to work in France
- A clean valid driving licence
- Experienced in formal service and household protocol
- Discreet, emotionally intelligent, and able to ‘read the room’
- A confident host and problem-solver who remains calm under pressure
- Professional, polished, and highly organised
- Trustworthy and loyal with verifiable references
Accommodation
A private bedroom and bathroom is provided within shared staff accommodation on the estate grounds.
No dependants.

Salary
€4,000+ net per month.
Hours
Full-time. Flexibility is essential – evenings and weekends may be required on occasion.
