Rare opportunity for a proactive Domestic Couple to oversee a stunning private estate, with private accommodation and long-term stability.

A private family of six is seeking an experienced, proactive, and highly capable Domestic Couple to manage and maintain their large country estate in the Cotswolds. The estate comprises an 11-bedroom main residence, several cottages, and extensive grounds, supported by existing gardeners and maintenance staff.

The principals are seeking a professional couple with excellent standards, strong initiative, and a genuine commitment to long-term service. This is a hands-on role requiring flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while ensuring the household operates efficiently year-round.

Private two-bedroom staff accommodation is provided on the estate. Pets and dependants may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Housekeeper / Cook Duties:

• Full housekeeping duties throughout the main residence
  • Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, presentation, and organisation
  • Daily cleaning, tidying, and household upkeep
  • Laundry, ironing, wardrobe care, and linen management
  • Household organisation and inventory management
  • Food shopping and household provisioning
  • Prepare daily breakfasts, lunches, and dinners for the family
  • Cater for a variety of dietary requirements, including gluten-free meals
  • Clear away and maintain kitchen cleanliness following meals
  • Ensure household supplies are adequately stocked at all times
  • Assist with informal family entertaining when required
  • Provide pet care support alongside the House Manager when needed

House Manager Duties:

• Oversee the smooth day-to-day running of the estate and household operations
  • Act as the primary point of contact for contractors, suppliers, and external service providers
  • Liaise closely with existing maintenance and gardening staff
  • Coordinate routine property maintenance and oversee estate-related projects
  • Provide driving duties for family members when required
  • Manage vehicle maintenance, servicing, and presentation
  • Assist principals with packing, travel preparations, and general support
  • Provide practical PA-style assistance and household administration
  • Support the family with ad hoc requests and lifestyle management
  • Assist with light outdoor duties and gardening support when required
  • Ensure security, organisation, and efficient operation of the property
  • Assist with cooking duties where appropriate and provide support to the housekeeping partner as required
  • Share responsibility for pet care, particularly when the family are travelling

Family & Lifestyle:

• Family of six, week-on/week-off occupancy pattern
  • The estate experiences increased occupancy during school holidays, Christmas, and summer periods
  • The family entertain guests periodically throughout the year and require flexibility during these times
  • Three dogs and four cats form part of the household and require ongoing care and attention

Candidate Requirements:

• Proven experience working as a Domestic Couple within a substantial private household or estate
  • Strong housekeeping and household management experience
  • Excellent cooking skills with the ability to prepare nutritious family meals
  • Hospitality-level standards of service and presentation
  • Highly organised, proactive, and capable of working independently
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience liaising with contractors, suppliers, and household staff
  • Trustworthy, discreet, and professional at all times
  • Flexible and willing to assist wherever required
  • Positive team players with a hands-on approach
  • Comfortable caring for dogs and cats
  • Longevity in previous household positions is highly desirable
  • Driver essential; ideally both candidates will hold full driving licences
