A wonderful temporary maternity nanny role supporting a happy and active 10-month-old boy through an exciting stage of development before he starts nursery.
This is a lovely opportunity for an experienced Maternity Nanny who enjoys supporting older babies through the later infancy stage and encouraging their development through fun, engaging experiences. A family in Balham are seeking a Temporary Maternity Nanny to care for their happy, energetic 10-month-old son while mum returns to work. The family are looking for somebody who is confident taking babies out and about, planning stimulating days that include playground visits, sensory classes, swimming (if confident) and plenty of opportunities to explore and learn. Their son loves being on the go, naps well both at home and out, eats well and enjoys discovering the world around him. The family are therefore keen to find somebody who shares their enthusiasm for getting outdoors rather than remaining at home. Mum will be home during the first week to provide a gradual handover before returning to work, allowing the successful candidate time to build a relationship with both parents and baby. Towards the end of the booking, the little boy will begin nursery, so the role will also include supporting him through this exciting transition with morning drop-offs and collections as required.
Job Specification
- Sole-charge care of a 10-month-old boy
- Supporting development through play and age-appropriate activities
- Planning outings, sensory classes and playground visits
- Swimming with the child (if confident)
- Supporting feeding, naps and daily routines
- Assisting with the transition into nursery
- Managing all nursery duties related to the child
Candidate Specification
- Experienced Maternity Nanny with strong later infancy experience
- Excellent understanding of child development from 9–12 months
- Proactive and confident planning outings and activities
- Warm, engaging and energetic approach
- Comfortable supporting the transition into nursery
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
- Confident swimmer desirable
