Location: Megeve, France
On behalf of our private client, we are looking for an experienced Domestic Couple for their Chalet in Megeve France.
This is a fantastic long-term opportunity for an experienced, detail-oriented, reliable couple possessing a proactive, can-do attitude, confident in delivering exceptional standards, team spirited and are both hands on and flexible.
This role is ideally suited to a couple who are confident in speaking French and English.
About the principals:
The principals are in residence at the Chalet approx. (3) months a year and they enjoy entertaining/have guests stay, so for the remainder of the time when they are not in residence you will be confident keeping things in order and well kept.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Table service and care of the cellar
- Cover maintenance duties i.e., garage, cellar, plant rooms and the surroundings of the house such as the front doorstep, 2 balconies, smaller areas of the garden & other parts in between visits of gardeners, systems of heating and lighting in the house, including 4.50m jacuzzi
- Some snow shovelling where the snowplough does not reach (small part of the chalet only)
- Driving for errands when/if required
- Home Cooking – simple, fresh, seasonal ingredients (look after the menu planning with lady of the house)
- Occasional dinner party’s for up to 12-14, house guests, Christmas and New Year’s Eve dinners & occasional buffet for 24 max. If necessary, outside help with the service for dinners will be provided if more than 8.
- Grocery shopping
- Always keeping the kitchen clean and tidy
- Housekeeping and laundry
- Assisting with a second Chalet close by – welcoming rental guests, checking in/out, be available for questions/help
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a chalet / private household/ similar setting
- Both candidates confident speaking French and English
- Excellent attention to detail and high standards of presentation
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Sound knowledge of cleaning products and handling of delicate items
- Professional, discreet, and respectful of family privacy
- Valid driver’s license
- Checkable references
Days & Hours of work:
- Full time – flexibility required when the family is in residence for the (3) months of the year (this could be Christmas/Easter/ Summer)
Accommodation:
- Cottage with living/dining/kitchen areas/2 bedrooms, linked to the chalet by a pleasant underground passage. There is an indoor heated parking space, and if own car, a petrol allowance, and maintenance allowance provided if using for the principal’s needs.
Salary:
- From €6K net per month (depending on experience and skills set)
