Head Housekeeper Job, Tottenham Court Road, London
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Head Housekeeper to lead the housekeeping operation across a unique luxury property.
This is a key role responsible for ensuring all guest rooms are cleaned, maintained, and presented to the highest standard. The successful candidate will manage the housekeeping team, oversee quality control, and ensure every room is inspected and ready for guests.
The property is spread across 16 different buildings, making this a varied and active role requiring someone who is organised, energetic, and comfortable working across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the housekeeping department, including Supervisors, Room Attendants, and Cleaning teams.
Work closely with the Supervisors to inspect all rooms once cleaned and ensure they meet luxury standards before guest arrival.
Carry out regular room checks and maintain excellent attention to detail.
Manage daily housekeeping operations across multiple buildings.
Ensure cleaning standards are consistently maintained.
Train, support, and motivate the housekeeping team.
Manage agency housekeeping staff and work closely with external staffing providers.
Manage linen requirements, laundry orders, and supplier relationships.
Ensure all housekeeping supplies and equipment are available and managed effectively.
Use computer systems, laptops, PCs, and iPads to manage reports, orders, and communication.
Identify areas for improvement and bring new ideas to improve processes and standards.
About the Rooms
The rooms are highly unique and different from traditional hotel bedrooms. They include bespoke designs, unusual layouts, and specialist materials.
Examples include:
Baths located within bedrooms alongside separate ensuite bathrooms.
Leather flooring and luxury finishes.
A variety of specialist materials requiring careful cleaning methods.
The Head Housekeeper must understand how to maintain these high-end finishes and ensure the team are trained correctly.
Team Management
The role will oversee a large housekeeping operation, including:
3 Housekeeping Supervisors.
Approximately 55 employees across the wider team.
A mixture of permanent and agency Room Attendants and Cleaners.
Strong people management skills are essential. The successful candidate must lead with professionalism, integrity, and confidence.
Skills & Experience Required
Previous experience as a Head Housekeeper, Executive Housekeeper, or senior housekeeping manager within luxury hospitality.
Strong experience managing large housekeeping teams.
Excellent attention to detail and quality control skills.
Experience inspecting rooms and maintaining luxury standards.
Strong organisational and planning skills.
Computer literate and confident using systems, spreadsheets, and digital devices.
Experience managing suppliers, laundry, linen, and stock processes.
Ability to work independently and make decisions.
Creative approach with the confidence to suggest new ideas and improvements.

Working Hours & Salary
Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 per annum (depending on experience).
Working hours: 40 hours per week.
Typical hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm.
Monday-Friday
No evening turndown service required.
Reporting Line
The Head Housekeeper will report into the senior management team and work closely with operations, finance, purchasing, and suppliers to ensure the smooth running of the housekeeping department.
