A rare opportunity for an experienced Domestic Couple to enjoy country living on a beautiful private estate in Angus, combining housekeeping, gardening and estate care with charming self-contained accommodation and long-term stability.

Client of Eden is seeking an experienced, practical and proactive Domestic Couple to support the running of their private home and rural estate in Angus. The principals are increasingly travelling and spending periods away from the property and are looking for a reliable couple to provide integrated household and estate support.

The estate comprises 10,000 sq. ft. residence set within approximately 25 acres of grounds, including woodland and a small livestock enterprise. The principals remain actively involved in the farming side of the estate and are not seeking farm managers, but rather a couple who are comfortable around livestock and happy to provide assistance when required.

Private self-contained two-bedroom accommodation is provided within an annex attached to the main residence.

Housekeeper Duties:

Approximately 20 hours per week

• Full housekeeping duties within the principal living areas of the residence
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and organisation
  • Regular Cleaning of kitchen, hallways, principal bedroom and bathroom, sitting room, study, drawing room and dining room. Other rooms on rotational basis or when guests are due.
  • Daily cleaning, tidying and general household upkeep.
  • Light laundry and ironing duties, including occasional bed linen and duvet covers
  • Household organisation and inventory management as required
  • Flexible approach to supporting the principals
  • No regular cooking duties required, occasional support when there are guests

Gardener / Maintenance Duties:

Approximately 30 hours per week.

• Maintain and develop approximately 1.5 acres walled garden
  • Management of fruit and vegetable production in raised vegetable beds
• Greenhouse cultivation and maintenance of cut flowers for household use
  • Maintenance of heritage apple trees and other fruit trees including plums and cherries
  • Weeding, planting, pruning and all seasonal garden maintenance duties
  • General horticultural upkeep and enhancement of the gardens
  • Fence repairs and general estate maintenance
  • Fallen tree clearance and woodland maintenance
  • Wood collection and preparation
  • General property and grounds upkeep

Estate & Livestock Support:

• Feeding livestock when required
  • Basic animal welfare checks
  • Supporting the principals during busy periods
  • Providing an extra pair of hands when handling livestock
  • General oversight of the estate and outbuildings

Livestock on the property includes sheep, goats, pigs and hens

The principals retain responsibility for all significant farming operations.

Dog Care & House Sitting:

A key element of the role.

• House security and general property oversight
  • Care and feeding of two rescue dogs
  • Dog walking and general care when the principals are away
  • Ensuring the smooth running of the estate during periods of absence

The principals are typically away for approximately 40–50 nights per year, including short breaks, annual holidays and family visits. Most extended absences are planned well in advance.

Candidate Requirements:

• Proven experience working within a private household, estate or similar environment
  • Strong housekeeping and practical gardening experience
  • Genuine enjoyment of country living and rural life
  • Comfortable around livestock and animals
  • Self-starters who can work independently and manage their own time
  • Organised, reliable and proactive individuals
  • Flexible and adaptable approach
  • Trustworthy, discreet and respectful of principals’ privacy
  • Hands-on and practical attitude
  • Driver essential; ideally both candidates will hold full driving licences
  • A genuine couple seeking a long-term role
