Greycoat Lumleys is delighted to be assisting a client in the search for an exceptional Private Chef for their private household in Notting Hill.
This is a rare opportunity to join a warm, international family and take complete ownership of a wellness-focused kitchen, creating nutritious, family-friendly cuisine both at home and while travelling. The family is seeking a chef who combines the standards of a luxury wellness retreat with the practicality, flexibility, and warmth required to support a busy household with three children.
The Role
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the family’s food experience, including menu planning, meal preparation, kitchen management, and provisioning. Menus should focus on health, longevity, and fresh seasonal ingredients, while remaining varied, enjoyable, and suitable for both adults and children. You will prepare daily family meals, healthy lunchboxes and snacks, occasional informal entertaining, and continually introduce new recipes and wellness-focused food concepts.
In addition to cooking, you will oversee the smooth running of the kitchen, including shopping, supplier management, stock control, inventory management, and maintaining exceptionally high standards of organisation and cleanliness. The ideal candidate will take pride in ensuring the kitchen, pantry, fridge, and freezer are always fully stocked, organised, and operating efficiently.
Household & Travel
While the kitchen will be your primary responsibility, the family is looking for a collaborative team player who enjoys working within a fully staffed household. You will work closely with the housekeeping and nanny teams, assisting with provisioning, travel logistics, and supporting the family’s routines when required.
The family travels for approximately 10 weeks per year during school holidays, primarily within Europe and occasionally further afield. The successful candidate should enjoy travelling, be comfortable managing kitchens in multiple residences, and have the flexibility to adapt to the family’s schedule during holiday periods.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Private Chef, Wellness Chef, or Senior Chef within a health-focused environment. A strong understanding of nutrition, healthy cooking, ingredient sourcing, and cooking for both adults and children is essential, alongside excellent organisational skills and a proactive, self-sufficient approach.
The family is seeking someone who is warm, discreet, professional, and naturally service-oriented. You should be highly organised, able to anticipate needs, comfortable working independently, and genuinely enjoy being part of a family environment.
Fluent English is required, and additional European languages would be advantageous but are not essential.
